Humanities Lab AVS is tuned to facilitate the many forms of innovation in the Humanities. It offers a stimulating environment for humanities start-ups to stage experiments and to present themselves. Humanities Lab offers dedicated coaching to enable (PhD) students, staff and alumni to discover new perspectives on realizing their ambitions.
Central to the Lab are the concepts of inspiration, innovation and impact.
Do you have a creative idea and are you keen on transforming it into a successful business? The Humanities Lab offers a lively collaborative space that gives you room to develop your ideas and exchange them with your peers. In addition, the Lab functions as a platform for education about entrepreneurship. As such, the impact of Humanities research is increased and students enjoy additional career advancement options.

Amsterdam Venture Studios @ Humanities Lab is located at the University of Amsterdam’s City Center Campus, at the heart of the historic city. This is also home to the Faculty of Humanities and the University Library. Adding to this, several national humanities research institutes are located here. The close proximity of the museums, cultural institutions and media organizations add to the unique position and strength of this Amsterdam humanities cluster.
