AVS @ Humanities Lab is tuned to facilitate the many forms of innovation in the Humanities. It offers a stimulating environment for humanities start-ups to stage experiments and to present themselves. AVS Humanities Lab offers dedicated coaching to enable students, staff and alumni to discover new perspectives on realizing their ambitions.
AVS Humanities Lab applies a new and broad approach that transcends the ‘traditional’ innovation perspective. In doing so it closely cooperates with VOX-POP, the Faculty of Humanities pop-up program offering students, staff, and others a space to organise debates, exhibitions, lectures, and more. Organisers and visitors of VOX-POP events can also make use of the available entrepreneurial expertise.
AVS Humanities Lab is located at the University of Amsterdam’s City Center Campus, at the heart of the historic city. This is also home to the Faculty of Humanities and the University Library. Adding to this, several national humanities research institutes are located here. The close proximity of the museums, cultural institutions and media organisations add to the unique position and strength of this Amsterdam humanities cluster.
